ABSTRACT SUBMISSION AND REGISTRATION DEADLINES EXTENDED!

On behalf of the Phytochemical Society of Europe (PSE) and the Organizing and Scientific Committees, we have the pleasure to invite you to participate in the Trends in Natural Products Research: A Young Scientists’ Meeting that will be held at the small, picturesque seaport village of Kolymbari, in northwest Crete, in May 23-26, 2022.

The Phytochemical Society of Europe organizes annually a Young Scientists’ Meeting in order to give younger scientists (MSc students, PhD students, postdoctoral fellows) the opportunity to present their research results in the form of short talks or posters and to discuss them with colleagues and senior scientists in an informal and stimulating environment.

The scientific program will include topics, such as:

  • Drug discovery from terrestrial, marine and microbial natural sources
  • Synthesis of natural products and their analogues
  • Biological and pharmacological activities of natural products
  • Biosynthesis of natural products
  • Chemical ecology
  • Biotechnological applications of natural products
  • Screening for bioactive metabolites through application of –omics platforms
  • Dereplication and rational approaches for bioprospecting

There will be plenary lectures, invited talks, and contributed oral presentations, while poster sessions will be linked to the scientific themes.

In addition to the scientific content, there will be an exciting social program, including a welcome reception, a traditional Cretan festive dinner with live music and dancing and an excursion (optional).

We are looking forward to meeting you at Kolymbari in May of 2022.

Conference Venue

The conference will take place at the Orthodox Academy of Crete, in the small, picturesque seaport village of Kolymbari, close to the city of Chania in Crete.

The conference venue is located on the sea-front, 5 min away from one of the most beautiful and immaculate beaches of the Mediterranean Sea.

The village of Kolymbari

The small fishing port of Kolymbari is still relatively unaffected by tourism and it has very good restaurants and tavernas, cafes and all kind of accommodations, from luxury quality hotels with excellent services to simple, family-owned rooms.

In Kolymbari you can warm yourself with the Cretan sun and local hospitality and enjoy the peaceful village atmosphere.

Accommodation

The OAC Conference Venue provides accommodation in 2 chapters. There are still available:
20 rooms in the 1st chapter
35 € / night for single occupancy or 50 € / night for double occupancy

12 rooms in the 2nd chapter
50 € / night for single occupancy or 75 € / night for double occupancy

Since the number of rooms at the OAC Conference Venue is limited, you are advised to book your accommodation the earliest possible, by sending an email to us.
